A REVOLUTIONARY CONCEPT

Our chairs have been meticulously designed in close collaboration with some of the most tradition-breaking and unafraid Scandinavian designers, including Opsvik, Øie, Ekstrøm, Salto and Sigsgaard, who have been widely recognized for their positive effects on health.Peter Opsvik took furniture design and turned it upside down in the 1970s. He was an ambassador of the revolutionary balans® concept, which first introduced this new generation of Norwegian designers to new forms of sitting that allowed for kneeling, tilting forward, open hip positions and for overall greater corporal mobility. To Opsvik, the true enemy of the body, and of life, was monotony.

He observed that holding the most highly recommended sitting position for too long could easily become exhausting for the body.
